Marketing to Back-to-School Shoppers

As the old saying goes: The early bird catches the worm. This is especially true in the case of marketers looking to capture sales from back-to-school shoppers, according to content marketing agency Brafton.

More moms and dads are likely to spend more money during back-to-school shopping season this year and targeting such shoppers with marketing campaigns may be one way to direct some of that cash to your company.

A report from PriceGrabber says nearly half of back-to-school shoppers plan to spend more than they did one year ago. Last year, just 13% of such shoppers said they would spend more than they did in the previous year. According to PriceGrabber, 17% of the shoppers surveyed said that they will start shopping for school items in June, 35% in July and 44% in August.

To take advantage of this increased interest, marketing campaigns should focus on value. Consumers are still cautious about opening their wallets.
